Sa' Weet & Heat Maple Chili

  • 2 cups chopped onions
  • 4 tbsp. diced fresh garlic (not china crap)
  • 1.5 lbs Butchers cut bacon – double smoked & diced

Sauté together until bacon is almost cooked, then add ¾ cup Pure Maple Syrup.
Continue to cook until bacon is crispy.

Add to bacon mixture:
2.5 lbs ground beef and cook until brown.  Remove from heat and drain off fat.

Add:

  • 1 can 398ml maple baked beans
  • 2 cans 796ml chopped tomatoes
  • 2-4 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups Pure Maple Syrup
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp season salt

if you cannot get double smoked bacon – 2tsp liquid smoke
